Your AEO status might be your fastest route through Chinese customs — and the network just expanded.

China now recognizes AEO certification from 34 economies covering 60 countries. Morocco signed on June 26. Uzbekistan’s mutual recognition goes live August 1.

If your company holds AEO status in a recognized economy, your goods entering China are entitled to:

  • Lower inspection rates at Chinese ports
  • Priority inspection when physical checks are needed
  • A dedicated customs coordinator
  • Priority clearance after trade disruptions

But here’s what most overseas importers miss: these benefits apply only if your Chinese entity or broker holds AEO certification — or your home-country AEO is properly declared at filing.

A recent rule change added a “Certified Enterprise” tier below the Advanced level, meaning more companies — including SMEs — can now qualify.

If you import machinery, auto parts, food, or equipment into China, AEO status isn’t a badge. It’s clearance speed and cost reduction.
