According to the “Regulations on the Administration of Quarantine Approval for Import and Export of Plants and Animals” (Decree No. 240 of the General Administration of Customs, amended and republished), certain products require quarantine approval before import or export. This applies to:

1、Animals and Their Products: These require quarantine approval if they fall under the categories specified in the regulations.

2、Plants and Their Products: Similar to animals, plants and their products must be approved if they are listed in the relevant regulations.

3、Special Approval for Prohibited Imports: Certain prohibited items also require special approval for import.

4、Transit Quarantine Approval: Animals transiting through China require quarantine approval before their transit.

Applicants must submit their requests to the approval authorities and obtain the “People’s Republic of China Import and Export Plant and Animal Quarantine Permit” before signing trade contracts or agreements or before the transit of animals.
