Tax Incentives for Imported Exhibits Sold During the China International Import Expo (CIIE)

Are you planning to sell your imported exhibits during the China International Import Expo (CIIE)?

Good news for exhibitors: Imported exhibits sold during the exhibition period may qualify for significant tax incentives under China’s preferential policies.

For exhibits sold within the approved and reasonable quantity limits, eligible products can enjoy exemption from:
Import Customs Duty
Import Value-Added Tax (VAT)
Import Consumption Tax

In other words, qualified exhibits may benefit from a full exemption of the three major import taxes.

This policy is based on the Notice on Tax Incentive Policies for Imported Exhibits Sold During the China International Import Expo, jointly issued by China’s Ministry of Finance, General Administration of Customs, and State Taxation Administration in October 2020.

For overseas exhibitors and importers, understanding the applicable scope, sales procedures, and customs declaration requirements is essential to fully benefit from these preferential policies.
