Importing Auto Parts into China? Don’t Let Compliance Stop Your Cargo at the Border.

Getting your auto parts into China isn’t just about shipping.

A missing certificate, an incorrect label, or the wrong origin documentation can turn a smooth shipment into a costly customs hold.

Here are 3 critical documents every auto parts importer needs to watch:

1. CCC — The Gatekeeper
Brake systems, lighting, steering and safety glass may require China Compulsory Certification (CCC).

And here’s the catch:
The CCC must reference the actual manufacturing facility — simply having an OEM or brand certification may not be enough.

TÜV and DEKRA quality marks are valuable, but they do NOT replace CCC.

2. Energy-Efficiency Label — The Hidden Delay
Motor-driven parts, pumps and certain electronic components may require a registered China Energy Label before shipment.

Miss the registration or get the label wrong?
Your cargo could face an inspection hold.
Retrofitting at the port may not be accepted.

3. Certificate of Origin — The Margin Saver
Want to benefit from RCEP preferential tariffs?

A generic Certificate of Origin won’t automatically unlock the benefit.

You need the correct trade-agreement code, RVC compliance and consistent HS classification.

And remember: EUR.1 and Form A do not trigger RCEP preferential rates.

The bottom line?

For auto parts entering China, compliance is not paperwork — it directly impacts your clearance speed, landed cost and profit margin.
