In a Complex Global Landscape, How Can Companies Continue International Trade?

With today’s international environment becoming increasingly complex—and some trading countries affected by international sanctions—many importers and exporters are facing serious challenges.

A practical solution: Re-export (Entrepôt) Trade

In practice, there are two main re-export trade models:

Direct Re-export
An intermediary purchases the goods, which are shipped directly from the producing country to the destination market, without entering the intermediary’s country.

Indirect Re-export
A Chinese intermediary purchases the goods, which are first shipped to a Chinese customs-bonded or supervised zone, and then re-exported to the final destination country.

Simply put:
• If the downstream buyer is confirmed → Direct re-export
• If the downstream buyer is not yet confirmed → Indirect re-export
