► U.S. President Trump signed an executive order on the 1st, imposing a 10% tariff on goods imported from China. According to the order, the U.S. will also impose a 25% tariff on goods imported from Mexico and Canada, with a 10% tariff on Canadian energy products.

► In response to the tariff hike, China has adopted multiple countermeasures, including increasing tariffs, filing a complaint with the WTO, and implementing export controls.

·State Council Tariff Commission: From February 10, 2025, China will impose additional tariffs on certain imported goods originating from the U.S. These include a 15% tariff on coal and liquefied natural gas, and a 10% tariff on crude oil, agricultural machinery, large displacement vehicles, and pickup trucks.

·Ministry of Commerce: Has filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization’s dispute settlement mechanism over the U.S. tariff measures.

·Ministry of Commerce & General Administration of Customs: Implemented export controls on tungsten, tellurium, bismuth, molybdenum, and indium-related items.

·Ministry of Commerce: Added U.S. companies PVH Group and Inmena Inc. to the “Unreliable Entity List.”

·State Administration for Market Regulation: Launched an investigation into Google for alleged anti-trust violations.
