Update on Mandatory Product Marking List
On July 10, 2024, TASS reported that the Russian government has updated the list of products requiring mandatory marking. The relevant document has been published.
The list categorizes products into food and non-food items and adds seven new product categories. Starting from September 1, 2024, these new categories will require mandatory marking. The newly added product categories include non-alcoholic beer, canned food, edible vegetable oils and fats, certain rehabilitation aids (such as crutches, canes, handrails, and wheelchairs with sanitary equipment), bicycles and bicycle frames, electric-assisted bicycles and tricycles, pet food, and veterinary medicines.
Additionally, starting March 1, 2025, new food additives, medical gloves, and preservatives will also be subject to mandatory marking. The circulation of affected products will be tracked through the National Product Circulation Monitoring Information System.
