Postponement of the Implementation Date for Quality Control Orders on Four Types of Polymer Products

Recently, the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers of India, after consulting with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), issued a notice deciding to postpone the implementation date of the quality control orders for four types of polymer products. The relevant quality control orders were initially issued on December 6, 2023, and were scheduled to come into effect on June 3, 2024. The table below shows the new effective dates and the corresponding standards for these four types of polymer products.

Once the quality control orders come into force, the aforementioned products must comply with Indian standards and be certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards, with certification marks affixed. Otherwise, production, sale, trade, import, or storage of these products will not be permitted.
